LedgerBloc Finance is an independent publisher covering the borrowing decisions most people find hardest to research: mortgages, personal loans, credit scores, debt consolidation, refinancing, and small business financing.

We started this site for a simple reason. Most finance content online is either a thin summary that answers nothing, or a sales page dressed up as a guide. Someone comparing a 15-year and 30-year mortgage, or working out whether consolidating three credit cards actually saves money, deserves a straight explanation with real numbers in it.

What we cover

  • Mortgages — rate types, first-time buyer programmes, deposits and down payments, refinancing maths, and the costs lenders don't put on the front page
  • Personal loans — how lenders price risk, what APR actually includes, and when a loan is the wrong tool
  • Credit scores — what moves a score, how long damage lasts, and which "quick fixes" are myths
  • Debt consolidation and management — balance transfers, consolidation loans, and the trade-offs between them
  • Business financing — funding options for early-stage and small businesses, and what lenders look for

How we produce our content

  • We start from the questions people actually ask. Topics come from real search behaviour and reader questions, not from whatever a lender wants promoted.
  • We work from primary sources. Regulator guidance, government programme documentation, lender terms, and published rate data — cited where it matters.
  • We use technology in our workflow, with human oversight. Research and drafting are assisted by modern tools, and every article is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and compliance before publication.
  • We update rather than abandon. Rates and eligibility rules change. Articles are reviewed on a rolling schedule, and each page carries the date it was last reviewed.
  • We show our working. Where a claim involves a calculation, we show the numbers so you can check them against your own situation.

Editorial independence

The site is funded by advertising and, in some cases, affiliate commissions. That funding keeps our content free to read, and it never buys a conclusion.

  • Advertisers have no input into what we publish or how we assess a product.
  • Affiliate relationships are disclosed where they exist.
  • If a product is a poor deal, we say so, whether or not it pays.

What we are not

We are not a lender, a broker, a comparison service, or a regulated financial adviser. We do not arrange credit, and we do not take applications. Everything we publish is general information for education, not personal advice. Before you commit to a mortgage, loan, or debt solution, speak to a qualified adviser who is regulated in your country and who knows your circumstances.
